Selsey Business Partnership | Committee Members
The Committee of The Selsey Business Partnership is formed from local business owners and representatives from Selsey Town Council, we all volunteer our time with the aim of promoting Selsey Businesses. This is achieved via our monthly networking meetings. During these we encourage local business owners to share information and support one another. We also aim to hold events to showcase local business and provide information on everything from grants to social media to self defence in the work place.
My name is Janet Pledger, I have lived in Selsey all my life and went to school locally. I am married and have children and grandchildren who all live in Selsey too. I have been a florist since I was 16, and have run The Selsey Florist on the High Street for over 10 years. I have experience in retail floristry and have exhibited at Chelsea Flower Show several times. In addition to my floristry qualifications, I have taught professional floristry at Brinsbury and Chichester Colleges. I am enthusiastic about keeping the 'village spirit' alive and getting involved in community projects and helping the High Street thrive.
My Name is Tracey Glithero - I am Chair of The Selsey Business Partnership. I also own Local Life Community Magazine. I am a really strong believer in community and a huge supporter of the Shop Local mantra. I feel that by encouraging the businesses and community to work together we will get results and not only a thriving High Street but also benefiting all of the other businesses of Selsey that do not have a shop front.
My name is James Mears, I'm 43 yrs old and am married with 2 children. I am the Treasurer for The Selsey Business Partnership. I've been in the flooring industry for approx 20 yrs and in 2009 opened a retail store in selsey called Flawless Finish.
Tina Johnson is the SBP Secretary and runs Seal Island Wools in selsey high street with her son and daughter.
I spent 40 years in total, in various stationery printing and advertising businesses mainly in the West London area and the last 18 of which were as Estimator and General Manager. I retired early due to health problems & I moved to Dorset and then in 2004 relocated to Selsey. Since then I have occupied myself as a self employed handyman and for the last 9 years have been a Selsey Town Councillor.
